Collecting the Sap
Chase Family Sugaring
Chase Family Sugaring is a smaller but expanding maple farm operating out of a small town of Landaff, NH. As with many maple farms, the story of how we got to where we are today is quite a journey, going from homemade equipment making Maple syrup for family and friends to top of the line equipment and techniques to be able to produce many maple products for all to enjoy.
There was a period of time CFS was 4 generations working together to produce maple syrup. Each year around late feb/ early march they would dig out all the buckets and spiles and begin tapping to prepare for the sap runs of the season. Once the weather cooperated for maple season where the nights freeze and the days thaw, it was go time. During this period the gathering process evolved from carrying the sap all by hand, to gathering around trails with a cletrac then a 4-wheeler. The one thing that didnt change along the way was Family. It has taken a full family effort to keep everything moving forward. What a great time it has been over the years to be able to spend time with family outdoors and have such a tasteful product at the end of each maple season to share.
Through the most recent 10 years, Brandon with his father Preston and son Caleb along side, have continued to expand CFS.
